EMPLOYMENT: Director Berghof Research Center, Berlin
The Berghof Research Center for Constructive Conflict Management, Berlin, Germany, was established by the Berghof Foundation for Conflict Studies in 1992, as an action-research institute focusing on the management, resolution and transformation of violent ethno-political conflict.
The Center is in the process of deciding on a new vision and agenda for the next five years, to expand and deepen its current work in peacemaking and peacebuilding. They seek a Director to join in the finalisation of the new agenda and the future concept of the Center. Candidates should have a substantial profile in peace research, including a PhD in a relevant discipline, along with extensive international experience in the practice and policy of conflict transformation. The post involves directing a small, expert staff team producing practice-relevant research. Close co-operation with Berghof entities and with other practice organisations is necessary as well as international networking with INGOs, governments and civil society actors. Fluent English is required, and a willingness to learn German.
Closing date for applications is 15 December.
