EMPLOYMENT: Social Scientist and Economist (ILRI)

ILRI seeks to recruit a Social Scientist and an Economist as part of its Targeting and Innovations Theme to work under the guidance of the Operating Project Leader, “Livestock, Livelihoods and Poverty” and in coordination with other research staff within the Theme and the Institute.

The application deadline is September 5 2008.

Social Scientist
The appointee will develop and implement research on the multiple roles of livestock in rural livelihoods, and will bring expertise in qualitative methods to a multi-disciplinary team working with mixed methods and approaches to identify and evaluate livestock-based strategies and options to reduce poverty, inequity and vulnerability for livestock-dependent people and communities.   [more]

Economist
The appointee will develop and implement research on the multiple roles of livestock in rural livelihoods. The appointee will bring strong quantitative skills to a multi-disciplinary team working with mixed methods and approaches to identify and evaluate livestock-based strategies and options to reduce poverty, inequity and vulnerability for livestock-dependent people and communities.  [more]
