AWARDS: Women's Rights Prize
Nominations for the Women's Rights Prize from the Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation are being accepted. An unrestricted $500,000 cash prize will be awarded to an individual who has "made contributions, often at personal or professional risk, to furthering the rights of women and girls in any area, and to advancing gender equity." Individuals and organizations that are active in or have an appreciation for contemporary events in the field of women's rights may send nominations. The foundation prefers that nomination forms be submitted online or e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Self-nominations are not accepted. The deadline is on December 15, 2008.
