CALL FOR PAPERS: Towards a rights-based agenda in international forestry?
The University of East Anglia and the University of California at Berkeley call for papers to be presented at an international workshop on rights-based approaches in international forestry. The workshop will bring together analytically-minded activists and activist scholars to discuss how an emerging rights-based agenda in international forestry might contribute to inclusive futures for people and sustainable forest management. Marcus Colchester (Forest Peoples Programme, tbc), Jesse Ribot (University of Illinois), and William Sunderlin (Rights and Resources Initiative) will deliver keynote presentations.
The workshop will be held at Berkeley on May 29-30, 2009. For more information, please visit http://www.uea.ac.uk/dev/rights-based_forestry.html or http://nature.berkeley.edu/rights-based_forestry.
Please send paper proposals (up to 300 words) as an Email attachment to Johannes Stahl (JStahl@nature.berkeley.edu) by December 10, 2008.
