CALL FOR PROPOSALS & PAPERS: Land Reforms & Management of Natural Resources in Africa & Latin America

The Congress of Land Reforms and Management of Natural Resources in Africa and Lantin America is scheduled for November 24-26, 2010, in Lleida, Spain. The congress will focus on comparing land reform efforts from Latin America and Africa. The use of the land reform banner, so typical in Latin America, has extended into areas where it was practically absent until now, in particular, in sub-Saharan Africa. This extension is surprising given the historical, social and cultural differences between the two continents. A comparison of these differences can illuminate the analysis of institutional and community strategies. The congress is therefore intended to contribute to bridging the current gap between the elaboration of development models and research into their deployment in specific natural resources management scenarios.

The Congress is organized into panels distributed by subject into three conferences, compiled in the corresponding program. Each panel will have a coordinator. The Congress organizers propose a list of panels, each one with its own coordinator. Additional panels may also be suggested. The congress scientific committee will select the panels from the proposals received.
