EMPLOYMENT: Program Officer for Research & Analysis, Gates Foundation
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Policy & Statistics team is hiring a new Program Officer for Research and Analysis. The purpose of the position is to develop and manage the foundation’s information and learning goals in agricultural development and policy. The Program Officer will be the Agricultural team focal point for conducting research and analysis and preparation of issue specific briefs in response to requests from the Director of AG, President of GD, the CEO and co-Chairs. The Program Officer will conduct anticipatory research on emerging topics and pro-actively alert Foundation leadership. This position will manage key relationships with internal and external collaborators, particularly universities, think tanks and other suppliers of policy research. The Foundation is looking for a mid-career professional who has a proven track record of analyzing a wide range of agriculture development problems, preferably someone who has lived and worked in one or more developing countries. The individual should be able to draw on a network of professional contacts to be able to rapidly acquire the data and current thinking on issues as they come up. Ability to communicate clearly (written and oral) to high level audiences of non-economists is absolutely crucial.
