ONLINE RESOURCE: How to use CEDAW as an advocacy tool
The Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) is the only human rights treaty that deals specifically with rural women, highlighting the need for their participation and access to basic social services - and is therefore a powerful tool to advocate for rural women. The International Land Coalition (ILC) has produced an infonote on CEDAW to inform NGOs which options exist for them to engage in the CEDAW process. There is also a separate document with Questions and Answers on specific aspects of participating in the review process, including practical information on accreditation. Both documents are available here.
