EMPLOYMENT: Opportunities at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI)
The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) is accepting applications for the following 2 positions:
- Director Asia (Colombo, Sri Lanka or New Delhi, India). IWMI seeks an experienced and motivated individual to lead IWMI’s work in the Asia Region, where they have offices in Lao PDR, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. You will be responsible for strategically positioning IWMI in the Asia Region, with other key roles which include assisting science Theme Leaders with the development of science ‘business’ and representing IWMI with host governments, key stakeholders and partners. You will also assist the development of impact pathways for projects and ensure that there are adequate mechanisms in place for adoption and out-scaling of successful outputs. You will also oversee the management of our regional offices. Regional Directors report to the Director General (DG) and are encouraged to spend a small proportion of time (30% or so) contributing to research synthesis/review or on project work.
- Researcher – Economics or Social Sciences (Kathmandu, Nepal). IWMI seeks a highly competent and motivated economist or social scientist to provide economic and/or social science perspectives, methodologies and analysis to research projects related to water use, food production, climate change adaptation and poverty in Nepal. This researcher will have the opportunity to take on the responsibility of developing a progressive research program for IWMI’s work in Nepal, which includes designing projects, supervising staff and writing fundable proposals.
