SCHOLARSHIPS: Workshop on “Reverse Degradation by Innovation: New Pathways of Sustainable Natural Resource Management”
RLC Campus Bonn and Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, offer scholarships for PhD students from developing and transition countries to participate at a workshop on “Reverse Degradation by Innovation: New Pathways of Sustainable Natural Resource Management”, May 30 – June 1, 2011, in Bonn, Germany.
The workshop will bring together researchers and PhD students from developing and transition countries with ”Alternative Nobel Prize“ winners. The workshop will thematically focus on innovative practical solutions to limit or reverse environmental degradation in the nexus between local human development, national policies and global environmental challenges. Case studies of innovative projects and approaches will be presented and analysed in a cohesive transdisciplinary way. The main workshop objectives are to:
- identify innovative approaches and best practice in sustainable natural resource management that deserve for propagation and dispersion
- work out key challenges and prospects for their implementation in developing and transition countries
- promote transmission of expertise and networking between “Alternative Nobel Prize” winners and PhD students from developing and transition countries and amongst each other
