EMPLOYMENT: CIAT/CCAFS Post-doctoral fellow, Palmira, Colombia. CIAT is seeking a qualified Post-doctoral Social Scientist for the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), to conduct comparative analysis of the effect of social, gender and generational differences on adaptive learning of small-scale producers, traders, processors and retailers in response to climate change-induced environmental stress. CALL FOR PROPOSALS: Women as Agents of Change, the Commonwealth Foundation–Deadline Extended. The Commonwealth Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of a Special Grants Fund for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Commonwealth Associations (CAs) to undertake strategic and innovative projects that will promote the Commonwealth theme for 2011, ‘Women as Agents of Change’. FUNDING: Funding Leadership and Opportunities for Women (FLOW). FLOW is a new fund initiated by the Dutch Foreign Ministry to strengthen the rights and opportunities for women and girls worldwide. Deadline: July 29, 2011

CALL FOR PAPERS: Emerging drivers of land change in tropical ecosystems. The American Geophysical Union (AGU) invites abstracts and Town Hall proposals for review and consideration to the 2011 Fall Meeting program. CAPRi members maybe in especially interested in Session GC20: Regional Climate Impacts 11. Emerging Drivers of Land Change in Tropical Ecosystems. Deadline: August 4, 2011

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: King Hassan II Great World Water Prize. The Prize is awarded to an institution, organization, individual or group of individuals in honor of outstanding achievements in any aspects of water resources such as scientific, economic, technical, environmental, social, institutional, cultural or political. Deadline: August 31, 2011

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: Climate Change and Water–Adaptation H20 (IDRC). Adaptation H2O aims to promote important research on the water related impacts of climate change as well as to build the capacity of students working in this field. It will provide research awards to graduate students from developing countries and to Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Deadline: September 1, 2011

PUBLICATIONS: Land Inequality and Decentralized Governance in LDCs (UNU-WIDER). The UNU-WIDER project on Land Inequality and Decentralized Governance in LDCs has produced several working papers that may be of interest to CAPRi members.
