EMPLOYMENT: Post-Doc Position at University of Hohenheim (Social and Institutional Change in Agricultural Development)
Universität Hohenheim (www.uni-hohenheim.de) is an innovative research-oriented university located near Stuttgart in Southern Germany. The newly established Division “Social and Institutional Change in Agricultural Development” at the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Social Sciences in the Tropics and Subtropics is responsible for research and teaching on governance in agricultural development, focusing on the institutional, political and social dimensions of food security and agriculture in developing countries. The Division seeks qualified candidates for the position of a Post-doctoral fellow, who is expected to conduct cutting-edge research in one of these fields. Since the Division is open to different disciplinary perspectives, they are inviting applications both
- from candidates with a PhD in agricultural or development economics who specialize in the economic analysis of institutions, and
- from candidates with a PhD in political science, public administration or related field who specialize in the political and governance dimensions of agricultural development.
They expect to fill this position with a candidate who recently finished his/her PhD with excellent grades and has a strong focus on publishing in high-ranking international journals. The position requires excellent skills and experience in using either quantitative or qualitative research methods and involves extended travel to developing countries for empirical research.
