EMPLOYMENT: ODI Research Fellow, Gender and Climate Change
The Overseas Development Institute (ODI) seeks a Research Fellow to work with ODI’s Social Development team and the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), of which ODI is a founding partner. CDKN is a five-year initiative funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) to assist developing countries respond to the challenges posed by climate change. The Fellow will also work closely with ODI’s Climate and Environment Programme (CEP).
We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to develop, fundraise for, conduct and manage high-quality and innovative research on gender, social exclusion and climate change, particularly with regard to climate finance. You will investigate the significant intersection between climate change and core development sectors such as agriculture, urban life and population growth, and the critical perspective and actions related to gender and social development in each of these areas.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- research and policy advisory work: conducting high-quality, innovative research on gender, climate change and climate finance
- fundraising: attracting funds through bids and marketing, including the development of a substantial personal research portfolio
- public affairs: disseminating and promoting ODI’s work and ideas on climate change
- project management: implementation and administrative and financial management of research, advisory and public affairs projects.
