CALL FOR PAPERS (NEW JOURNAL): Journal of Gender, Agriculture and Food Security (Agri-Gender). The aim of the new open-access, peer-reviewed journal Agri-Gender is to promote interdisciplinary research related to gender and the agricultural and food sciences.

CALL FOR CONCEPT NOTES: Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA). This Call is open to applications from national public and private sector entities operating in any of the 11 ASARECA member countries of Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: The Norman Borlaug Award for Field Research and Application. This award will recognize exceptional, science-based achievement in international agriculture and food production by an individual under 40 who has clearly demonstrated intellectual courage, stamina, and determination in the fight to eliminate global hunger and poverty. Deadline: June 30, 2014

EMPLOYMENT: ILRI Senior Social Scientist–Gender. The International Livestock Research Institute seeks to recruit a Senior Social Scientist to lead gender and livestock research and a team of scientists within the Livelihoods, Gender, Impact and Innovations Program under the Integrated Sciences unit. Deadline: May 15, 2014

EMPLOYMENT: IWMI Researcher-Social Sciences (Gender, Poverty and Institutions). The CGIAR Research Program on Water, Land and Ecosystems (WLE), led by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), seeks a social science researcher to be based at IWMI headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
