FELLOWSHIP: Mickey Leland International Hunger Fellow with FES and CAPRi
The Foundation for Ecological Security and CAPRi will host a Mickey Leland International Hunger Fellow from 2015-2017.
Researchers and practitioners are increasingly called upon to do research and implement programming that contributes directly to changes that improve the lives of poor people “at scale”, and to show our impact pathways. This requires working with partners. But whereas significant attention has been paid to the mechanisms for policy researchers to work with government agencies to effect policy change , relatively little effort has been undertaken to identify how research can influence social institutions and behavior, which are at the crux of much natural resource management. The Leland Fellow’s experience with Foundation for Ecological Security, an NGO with a longstanding commitment and experience in working “at scale” on management of natural resources in India will provide important lessons for the CGIAR program on Collective Action and Property Rights (CAPRi) on what it takes to translate research outputs into materials that can be used by practitioners and to influence policy.
Applications are due by January 25. Please see full details here.
